Jalapeño’s name suits him well - he's a feisty and fun fella! He's the smallest of his siblings and has energy for days. “Energizer Bunny” status for this one! He's on the go, wanting to explore and play with the other dogs in his foster home ALL of the time.
This sweet boy is definitely a dogs-dog, and we recommend he have a playful friend in his forever home. Jalapeño likes to play rough and can be a little bit “dramatic” when he feels likes the other pups are being too rough with him. 😆 Of course, he's immediately right back in the action once he is done with his theatrics.
To relax, Jalapeño enjoys a nice cozy dog bed to lay in or a fluffy blanket to take a nap when he does wear himself out. He will happily hang out in a crate or x-pen, chewing on a bone to relax for a bit, but will let you know when he's ready to come out. He loves to chew on anything available or accessible to him, though having lots of fun chew toys around makes it easy to redirect him.
POTTY TRAINING: Jalapeño does well with a proactive potty schedule and will do his business when taken outside regularly. When in an x-pen, he will start to whine and let you know that he needs to go outside. If not, able to get outside, Jalapeño will use potty pads in his x-pen.
CRATE TRAINING: Currently sleeps in an x-pen. He is comfortable spending time in an x-pen surround when his foster family is out of the home or at work. He has spent time in a crate and has done well with that experience, too.
Overall, Jalapeño is super sweet and friendly, with a whole lot of energy to burn! He is well suited for an active family, with a yard to run around in, preferably with another dog friend to help keep them entertained and out of trouble. 😉
