🎇 MILAN (aka “Millie”) 🎇
BREED: Chihuahua cross
AGE: 6 months old
WEIGHT: 7 lbs.
LIKES: playing chase and wrestling with resident dogs (medium sized and smaller), playing tug-of-war, squeaky toys, and cuddling with her humans.
DISLIKES: Crate training 😜
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Millie is very friendly, playful and snuggly. She is still a puppy and likes to chew, so appropriate toys/bones will be important in getting her through this stage in life. She has not attempted to chew any non-toy items, like shoes, furniture, etc. She loves children and would fit in great with a family, especially one with another dog companion, to help burn off her puppy energy.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Potties outside when she is let out regularly. 100% good with going outside with verbal reminders. As she grows into becoming fully reliable, she will still need a watchful eye and re-direction.
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Hates her crate and will sing very loudly for extended periods of time. Crate training takes time and understanding that this is typical puppy behavior and tantrums during the learning phase is helpful. She also hates being behind pet gates, and inside playpens. She just doesn't want to be kept away from her people.
EXTRAS/MISC: Millie is sweet and playful puppy, who settles down to cuddle after. Untested with cats, though good with dogs of varying sizes. No food aggression, but redirection helps at mealtime, too.
She is easily startled and skittish when there are unexpected sounds or movements around her and responds with barking. Continued puppy training and becoming familiar with her environment should help.
Millie is playful and really enjoys wrestling around with kids and dogs. She is very smart and eager to please, highly motivated by treats, too. Her favorite pastime is snuggling against her human under the blankets. She only wakes up once per night to go outside. Also good on car rides, when allowed to sit on her person.
