Great Pyrenees (possibly a little Husky mix, too), 1-2 years old, 92 lbs.
Pamo had a rough start in life, before making his way to WTDR. He is looking for a very special home.
It is apparent that he has suffered some early life trauma, making him cautious and very, very shy. It may take weeks, or possibly months for him to warm up and trust his future forever people. He’s a gentle giant, and there isn’t a mean bone in his body. (He will crumple in the corner of a room when introduced to new people.)
Being a “guardian” breed, Pamo loves to patrol his yard, and will bark to alert you he’s keeping watch.
This big boy LOVES other dogs, almost too much, and loves to play once he’s comfortable. Playing with little dogs might be a challenge, as he isn’t quite aware of his size and strength, and can be rough unbeknownst to himself.
Pamo would benefit from a quiet, patient, home with a confident resident dog to help him adjust and balance out in his new surroundings.
Leash walks are a work in progress. Pamo loves to walk and will need a “gentle leader” set-up, as he tends to do flips, with excitement, when other dogs are barking or around him. He knows a few basic commands, like “sit”, though being shy makes it a little more challenging to work on commands…he tends to crumble into the ground when overwhelmed or nervous.
This boy is a giant teddy bear once he warms up to his people, and loves to sleep “belly-up” while sharing your pillow.
With all he has experienced in his young life, (some of it a mystery to us), he really is the sweetest boy, awaiting that special someone to offer him patience and security…and most of all LOVE.
