Wilbur is a sweet, energetic guy who has settled in well in his current foster home with several similarly sized dogs and one larger dog. He is food motivated and responsive to training using treats and food.

LIKES: People, snuggles, leg hugs, hard chew toys, tennis balls, a friend to play with, treats.

DISLIKES: Being alone

POTTY TRAINING: Wilbur is fully potty trained in his current foster home with the use of a dog door to go outside.

CRATE TRAINING: Wilbur will go into open crates to hang out during the day but still needs encouragement and a treat to go in to sleep at night. He would prefer to share a bed with his person, but settles easily once in the crate and sleeps all night.

OTHER/MISC: He initially did a lot of barking outside and at the family cats, but with redirection this has subsided. He has not had an opportunity to get up close to the family cats, so it is unknown how he would do in a home with more access.

Wilbur loves people and does jump up and use his paws to grab on and give hugs. He has a soft, silky coat that will need some minor grooming for hygiene. He may benefit from a puzzle bowl or some other slow feeder, due to his tendency to gobble his food quickly.

Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.
