Delilah
2 year old, spayed female, 25 lbs
Terrier mix

Delilah is a gentle, loyal girl who forms a deep bond with her person. She’s the definition of a shadow dog — once she chooses you, she’ll happily follow you from room to room just to be near. While she may be shy at first and slow to warm up in new situations or with new people, once she feels safe, her sweet personality really shines.

Delilah loves other dogs! She may take a little time to get used to new dog friends, but once she adjusts, she truly enjoys their company and does very well with them.

She settles nicely in her crate, especially when she can still see you or when you leave the home. She enjoys both relaxing by your side and playing with her favorite toys. She’s not much of a barker and tends to observe quietly before jumping into new experiences.

LIKES: Being close to her person, lounging together, playing with toys, canine companionship.

DISLIKES: New situations can feel overwhelming at first, sharing high-value resources like food or her favorite people.

POTTY TRAINING: Doing well with a consistent routine. She’s had no accidents in her foster home.

CRATE TRAINING: Settles in especially well when her human is nearby or when left home alone.

OTHER/MISC: Delilah would thrive in a patient home that understands she needs time to build trust. She does show some resource guarding with food and people, so continued positive reinforcement and structure will help her feel secure. Once bonded, she is incredibly devoted and affectionate. She would do best with a family willing to go at her pace and help her continue building confidence. Rarely barks and has a calm presence in the home.
