Morty is a joyful little pug with a huge personality who is ready for a family that will love him for life.

LIKES: Morty loves life! He loves all people and absolutely adores kids. He enjoys other dogs and can easily play with dogs ranging from small to large. He also loves chew bones, toys, and snoozing next to his humans. Morty has shown some interest in chasing cats that are not dog-savvy, though he has done well with the cat in his current foster home. Because of this, he may do best with a confident, dog-savvy cat or in a home without cats. A cat test would likely be needed for homes with cats.

DISLIKES: Morty doesn’t love being left alone for long periods during the day or being crated when his family is not home.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Morty is the happiest boy! He’s very silly, hilarious, and generally easygoing.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Morty can have a tendency to mark when adjusting to a new home. This usually improves once he settles in and understands the space is his. Wearing a belly band during the transition can help manage this. In his foster home, he has occasionally urinated in his belly band when left alone, which may be related to some anxiety when his people are away.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Morty stays in an crate when his foster family is not home. He may cry initially, but does better when left with something special like a frozen Kong or a peanut butter bone. At night, he much prefers a soft spot in bed with his humans.

EXTRAS/MISC: Morty truly has a zest for life. He’s a happy, playful boy who wants nothing more than to be included and loved. An adopter with experience or familiarity with pugs and other flat-faced breeds would be a great match for him. Morty is looking for a committed forever home that understands his needs and will give him the stability he deserves. He would likely thrive in a home where someone is around more often, such as a work-from-home household or a family with a flexible schedule.
