Petal
1.5 years, spayed female, 18 lbs
Pug/Poodle mix
LIKES: Being with her person, snuggling, playing with balls, treats, and going on adventures.
DISLIKES: Being left out of the fun
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Petal is very friendly and quickly warms up to people. She entertains herself and will play with her ball on her own. She will also fetch. She has decent recall in the yard and at dog-safe off leash areas, especially when treats are involved. She can co-exist with cats, but needs introductions and time - her first instinct will be to bark at them until she knows not to. She will greet people in the home by barking but stops quickly. She also gets excited to see or meet new dogs on leash and will bark and then be excited to play. Petal is just has an enthusiasm for life and all it has to offer. She has a big personality for such a small and "interesting" looking dog, she is sure to become the topic of many conversations.
POTTY TRAINING: She is good with regular opportunities to go outside. She will potty on leash or would use a dog door as well.
CRATE TRAINING: She is not a big fan, especially when people are home. But will settle down quickly if left in a crate at home alone. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom.
OTHER/MISC: Petal is young and active and would benefit from an adopter with time and energy to work on continued training. She is smart and loves to go on car rides and walks and would make a great travel companion and adventure buddy. She would be great with children. She had puppies that were adopted out, and was adopted briefly but returned due to no fault of her own. She is looking forward to finding her forever home!

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how PETAL will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.
Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.
We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for PETAL, as well as her future family.
