Henna
8 mos, spayed female, 12 lbs
Pug mix
Henna very timid at first with lots of "catch me if you can." In her foster home she has settled down and become a spunky, happy girl once she trusted her foster pawrents ( this took approx. 2 months). She loves scratches and face scrunches. She gets super excited and jumps on her foster for pets when they come home or wake up in the morning. She is very food motivated.
She uses a dog door to potty but will use a potty pad if she can't get outside (doesn't always hit the mark) and will also hide under your shed or porch if she can, so it's best to block any area like that off.
Henna loves to sit on your lap in the evening after she gets her evening zoomies out. She sleeps in a crate quietly but won't go in on her own.
Adopters ideally will have:
- Pug experience/knowledge. Pugs have trouble in the heat and can have their own unique issues due to their breathing. We'd love for our adopters to have knowledge of their needs.
- A securely fenced yard. Henna will need a secure yard to potty in until she feels safe enough in her new home to venture out. Henna has been getting used to leash training in her foster home, and she has gotten comfortable enough to potty on leash.
- A location close to the Eugene/Springfield area. We'd like Henna to stay closer to home so we can assist in her transition as needed.
- A similar-sized dog-friend at home. Henna MUST have another dog in her adoptive home. She absolutely loves every dog she ever meets. A gentle friend will help her open up and be more playful. Plus it's nice to have another dog to teach house routines.
- Patience. Henna will need patient and empathetic adopters to give her time to settle in and get more comfortable with her new home.

Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.
We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for HENNA, as well as her future family.
